Build: Functional and Material specification
Use standard clamping devices or released production fastenings to fix the part or component in the checking device. Clamping choice to be signed off within GIS prior usage.
Do not use both, clamping and production fixing.
Exceptions to be signed off within GIS prior usage.
Clamps:
Allowed to use all professional and commercially available clamps, e.g. Destaco.
Clamping force must be likewise the assembly process.
The direction of closing and the pressure point must stay true perpendicular to the mating surface.
The mating surface size is equal the assembly condition. Max sizes are 20x20mm or dia 20mm.
Any kind of deformation or stressing of the part by clamping is not allowed.
Fasteners, screws, bolts, etc.:
The checking device must be build preventing any demolition of the part when offloading (Clamshells).
Mating conditions are equal design intent.
A sharing bolt must be replaced by a normal metric screw with same bolt head.
Clamping torque are simulating the production intent.
Slide able or pivoting devices:
Slide able or pivoting devices may be used wherever essential.
They must be robust to overcome the functionality in a repeatable way and repositioning adequate the quality requirements.
